I call it ‘Mair’. Short for Mum-Hair. Associated with ‘nightmare’ and also known as I-have-no-time-for-my-barnet.
If you’re anything like me, since entering toddler-zone, hair washing has gone from an every-other day occurrence to pretty much a weekly treat (and even then it’s a quick wash followed by a ‘that’ll do’ blast with the hairdryer). Gone are the days of having a newborn baby who kindly kips for 3 hours at a time whilst you enjoy a leisurely getting ready sesh. The answer? Well, ideally a wash and blow dry in a salon every few days – and if you manage this I take my hat off to you. But unless you’re either made of money, have infinite time on your hands, or know of a salon who accepts small people (big shout out to Myla & Davis!) then the easiest option is a good old hat. Whack it on, leave your hair with the ‘intentionally undone’ look and you’re good to go. You’ll look like you’ve made an effort by literally doing the opposite.
